Fallout 3 Reborn

Fallout 3 Reborn

Information:
What Fallout 3 Reborn is:
A WIP mod, that aims at creating a more action-packed and intense Fallout experience. No more will you see an enemy shrug off a bullet to the brain. If you are tired of guns that feel like airsofts, this mod is for you. If you are tired of the brown and dull wasteland, this mod is for you. If you’re tired of unrealistic radiation, this mod is for you.
Armor and guns are far more realistic. A headshot from a 9mm handgun usually kills instantly. Armor starts giving you almost complete protection (75% or 50%) against any threats, but depending on the type of armor degrades very quickly if its simple Vault armor or over hours of constant battle in the case of the T51-b. Armor is more health-based, meaning your armor gets much more DR, but much less health.
Explosives have some… fun changes. Any explosion is liable to send you flying or knock you over. The distance you fly obviously depends on the explosion type. Nukes will send you up to 50 meters, while an Anti-Personnel Mine will send you ten feet in the air… without your legs. Also, some high-caliber weapons and blunt melee weapons can knock characters over if they score a critical hit.
Drugs and food now have more drastic changes, much more realistic and time-based. There is no more instant healing, the average Adrenaline (Stimpack) takes about 2 minutes to give you 120 health.
Weapons and items have lots of changes, both major and minor. Some weapons have been totally redesigned, while others simply sport a new name and use a different ammo type. All ammunition now have realistic names, or as close as I could get (I’m not a gun nut, so forgive me for any mistakes). Items also feature new names and uses.
Radiation has been redone to act way more realistic. At 1000 Rads, you are immune to further irradiation, but lose 10 health a second until you croak or if you’re lucky, get healed. I also added a “glowing one” effect to your character at 600+ rads. When irradiated you can suffer crippled limbs, lose health slowly, and see a slew of fancy effects.
There is so much more that I could never hope to document it all. I’ll leave it for you to find out as you play, have fun and remember to approach the game differently as there are some drastic changes, your old playing style may not work as well in this new “wasteland”.

BASE INSTALLATION:
Drop fallout3_reborn.esp into your Fallout 3/Data folder and select fallout3_reborn from the “Data Files” menu in the Fallout 3 Launcher. Drop the
“textures” and “meshes” folders into your Fallout 3/Data folder and allow them to merge with any folders you may have there already.
EXPANSION PACK INSTALLATION(S):
Download the .esp’s you need, named appropriately, after the expansion pack(s) they modify. Drop them in the same place as the fallout3_reborn.esp file
(which is still neccessary, so make sure it’s installed and running before using the add-ons). Before you can select this mod in the “Data Files” menu and
use it, you need the actual expansion pack .bsa files. Without these files, you’ll crash to desktop if you try and start Fallout 3 running my mod. The files
are called “Anchorage.esp”, “ThePitt.esp” and “BrokenSteel.esp”. Finding these files is difficult, it took me some work to do, so I do not recommend trying
to do this unless you have experience with your computer’s file system, or it could be possible you already have these files. You can find these files in
your “AppData” folder hidden in you hard drive. These are hard to find, and I cannot distribute them as I’d be pirating. Google how to find this folder if
you need to. You must navigate through the “AppData” folder until you reach the GFWL folder and find the DLC, which are strangely named, but are self
explanatory when opened. Once you have found the files, put them in your Data folder, but do NOT select them in your “Data Files” Menu unless you want some
wierd stuff happening to your game (or you hacked your game because you hate Games for Windows Live).
UNINSTALLATION:
Delete the .esp file(s) and delete the “menu” and “projectile” folders from your “meshes and “textures” folder. This may corrupt any games running the mod,
so make backups BEFORE you start playing.
WHAT THIS MOD DOES:
Makes Fallout 3 more realistic and changes the names of many items. Below is a more detailed list:
-A greener world with living trees and no lingering fallout (except in certain quest areas)
-New destruction effects such as being able to shoot a box of ammo with explosive results. Not exactly realistic, but it is very fun and allows for creative traps (mini-nuke + frag mine = awesome)
-Much more realistic vehicle destruction system (no more nuclear cars that can be set off with a few shots)
-Support for the Point Lookout DLC.
-A tweaked movement system (you move faster)
-Bullet Casings stay for much longer.
-New bullet casing models thanks to “odin_ml” and his Shells and Slugs modder resource.
-The ability to bludgeon people over with blunt weapons. The dull green-brown sky replaced with a more blue-white colored one.
-New and more realistic ammo types: .22 and .50 caliber ammunition added.
-Vendors can now sell the new ammo types.
-Various inconsistencies fixed (Nuka-Cola Plant changed to Coca-Cola Plant, etc).
-New menu backgrounds (more interesting, in my opinion).
-Level cap raised to 40 (may be removed if it causes anyone trouble).
-Support for “The Pitt” ammo press (proper ammo names).
-A new gibbing system (high-powered weapons can tear foes apart or knock em down if they survive).
-New weapons such as a 40mm grenade launcher.

This realism mod includes texture packs for Fallout 3 and the game’s expansions. The Game’s System requirements are still the same as before.
This is the best mod to make Fallout 3+All Expansions including Point Lookout more realistic than ever, even if you don’t have a high-end PC.
